On Sunday, June 28, 2015 the Urban League of Rochester held its 25th Annual Distinguished Male Cooks event at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. It was sponsored by the Urban League Guild, McDonald’s, and D.M. Williams Funeral Home.
Proceeds from this fun, family event benefit Urban League programs, such as Project Achieve and Project Ready, which are designed to prepare African-American students who are transitioning from middle school to high school and from high school to college. The programs engage students in curricula that prepare them academically, socially, and culturally for higher education.
The event will also support the Black Scholars Endowment Fund, which provides financial assistance to Urban League Black Scholars who are pursuing higher education.
