Upstate NY Gospel Magazine had an opportunity to talk with Adrianna Web be who was recently crowned the 2015 Miss STAR Debutante. The STAR Debutante scholarship program is sponsored by Sisters Together Achieving Results, Inc. Originally founded in 1978, STAR was incorporated in 2002. This organization is dedicated to providing young women the necessary tools for a well-balanced life. We nurture and enhance principles of integrity, honesty, fairness, hard work, dedication, love and respect for others.

In June, I will graduate from high school! I am a Black Scholar, a graduate of Leadership of Rochester, a Girl Scout and blessed to have recently won the title of Miss STAR Debutante 2015.
Let’s talk about that. I understand that debutante programs were designed to equip developing young women with essential life teachings in social, professional, personal, and spiritual growth. Each debutante is chosen based on the following criteria:
• Demonstrating and maintain scholastic achievement (GPA 2.5 and above);
• Demonstrating focus on goals and aspirations beyond high school;
• Demonstrate and maintain membership in good standing at a local church;
• Demonstrating outstanding character, leadership, dependability, and morality; and
• Demonstrating commitment to service
