FASHIONISTA JENAYE BROOKS-RIVERS
Jenaye Brooks-Rivers is a Rochester native whose family relocated to Maryland when she was very young. During a recent visit, Upstate NY Gospel Magazine had a conversation with an aspiring young lady that has her mind focused on Fashion, Marketing and Merchandising. She is a 2018 graduate of Hammond High School in Columbia, Maryland. As a high school freshman, she found herself unable to find a club or organization that piqued her interest. The following year she found herself organizing the ‘Hammond High School Fashion Club’ inspired by the Fashion Institue of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles, California. According to the Fashion Club’s web site “We are a national high school fashion program, sponsored by FIDM, a prestigious fashion college with four campuses strategically located in California’s fashion and entertainment centers.
We help students interested in pursuing careers in these creative industries to launch Fashion Clubs at their high schools. Many club organizers produce fashion shows at school gaining valuable fashion leadership experience. Fashion Club members qualify for exclusive scholarship…..
