Gospel Radio Announcer Daulton Anderson received the 2015 Stellar Reach Trailblazer Award recently during the 30th Annual Stellar Awards Weekend in Las Vegas. This award recognizes individuals who have made major contributions to enhance the longevity of Gospel music in the industry.
The Stellar Awards is the first Gospel Music Awards show in the U.S., honoring Gospel Music Artists, writers, and industry professionals for their contributions to the Gospel Music Industry. The Stellar Awards ranks high in status as the only Gospel Music television awards program syndicated in over 140 markets nationwide. Chicago based production company Central City
Productions Inc. (CCP) has produced the show since its conception in 1985.
Anderson, who hails from London, England, is currently on air at WBAI 99.5FM NY “High Praize” Sunday 6am-8am and WHCR 90.3FM NY “Morning Praise” Sunday 8am-11am. April 2015 marks Daulton Anderson’s 20th year as an on air gospel announcer. He began his career at WHCR, also known as Harlem Community Radio, in 1996. Ten years later, he was hired as a consultant for
the Inner City Broadcasting Company (Now YFC Holdings) home to WBLS & WLIB radio stations. Working as a consultant in 2006 Daulton programmed and formatted, an all talk radio station 1190am WLIB to a 24/7 gospel radio station.
“This is very exciting, and yet another blessing for me,” Anderson, who will next host a top-tier gospel program in Brooklyn on Mother’s Day, said. “Effort and hard work will pay off in the end. If you keep working at what you love you will be recognized.”
Anderson has received numerous awards and recognition for his work in gospel music in his 20- year career, most notably as the 2005 Gospel Music Workshop of America/Gospel Announcer of the Year, 2008 Black Heritage Pioneer Radio, Keith “Wonderboy” Johnson Music Foundation,
and Recipient of the Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA)/ Gospel Announcers Guild (GAG) Announcer of the Year for three consecutive years.

Q: Tell us more about your career besides being an on-air personality at WBAI 99.5FM NY “High Praize” and WHCR 90.3FM NY “Morning Praise”? What is Daulton involved in when not on the radio?
A: I am always reviewing and confirming my public appearances at requested venue events. I am an emcee for convention or church occasions. Additionally, I attend conferences to speak about the business of gospel music – its marketing strategies and the legal aspects of being an artist in the
gospel industry.
